2 A Haiku is a three lined poem, they originated from Japan. So short, BUT they contain just the juicy language you need to paint a picture in your head. A haiku is made up of 17 syllables, 5 in line one 7 in line two 5 in line three 4M used their syllables wisely to write stunning animal haiku

4 High up in the trees, Munching eucalyptus leaves, Sleeping cozily. Koala

6 Barking up a storm! Teeth chomping down his breakfast. Looking for a friend.

7 Eagle Flying in the sky Like a smooth flying jet plane Landing very smoothly By Charlie

8 Perched on the pale rock, Howls as the wind haunted him, A lonely tear drops. By Fresh

9 Hunting juicy prey. Howling at the bright twilight Snapping the jaws of death.

10 Rabbit Soft like a small toy, Hopping around in it’s cage, Loves to eat carrots. Dolphin Jumping out of the waves, Feeding on fish from the still sea, Loves to jump and play. Seal Love’s to play with ball, Eats fish from the deep blue sea, A killer bite OUCH!

11 Gazing for his prey, Trudging with purrs near tall trees, Finally attack!!

12 We are hunting dogs I eat mice, rats and Squirrels We live in Grasslands

13 Searching for some prey, Creeping, prowling through jungle SNAP! Jaws shut tightly.

14 There’s a predator, He’s spying on a gazelle, For his big dinner.
