5 55 © Confederation of Indian Industry 5 Hawa Mahal Built in 1799, by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh The 5 storied stunning semi-octagonal Monument having 152 windows with over hanging latticed balconies is a fine piece of Rajput architecture. Originally designed for the royal ladies to watch And to enjoy the processions and other activities on the street below. Now it houses a well laid out museum, The display “Jaipur past and present”

6 66 © Confederation of Indian Industry 6 Central Museum Oldest museum of the state and functions as the State museum of Rajasthan This graceful building was founded in 1876 by Prince Albert (also known as Albert Hall). It has a rare collection of archaeological and handicraft pieces.

The solemn dignity of it red sandstone and white marble pavilions, when reflected in the lake at the foot hill, is a sight to behold. It contains various halls i.e. Sheesh Mahal (chamber of Mirrors), Diwan-e-Am or the Hall of Public Audience, Diwan e- Khas or the Hall of Private Audience.

8 88 © Confederation of Indian Industry 8 Birla Temple The Birla Temple, originally known as Lakshmi Narayan Temple Dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, this temple is built in pure white marble Inside this magnificent shrine, beautifully sculpted idols of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, as well as other Hindu Gods and Goddesses, can be seen Delicate carvings of Hindu symbols, and ancient quotes from the Geeta and the Upanishads ornament the walls of this fascinating temple
