3 Self-PortraitsChildrenAdults Animals Scenery & Nature Still-Life Statements SurrealAbstract3D T itle P age Father’s Rights? By Christine M. Andrews A heavy red line boxes the main emphasis of this illustration. The red line symbolizes an abstract view of a stop sign. The sign is sending a message to the public viewers. A message “Father Rights” is seen throughout the entire painting and hanging from the letter “F” is a gavel. The message is illustrated large and clear so the message can be seen from all angles of perception. The gavel’s position is unstable; in other words, the gavel symbolizes Unequal Rights. A profile of a male is seen throughout most of the illustration. His profile overlaps the message and is painted transparent. His profile can also be interpreted as a shadow. Therefore, the male symbolizes a Father’s Loss of Parenting. He feels as if he is in the dark, helpless, and all alone. A young child’s figure also appears in the painting. The child is illustrated with fine detail. He is positioned to the left of the illustration; and, he is viewing the public with fear in his eyes and with a facial expression of confusion. In addition, he is placed to the right of his Father. And, the message and the gavel are seen directly behind him. The position of all subjects symbolizes a shuffling motion. A young boy shuffled between the court system’s rules and the loss of a Dad. A child is wondering who he is and where he belongs. click Fathers Rights + acrylic Painting display at below event. In addition, I spoke about the painting at their annual board meeting.
