3. Press Release Come See The Music East Stroudsburg University announces its performances for the 2009-2010 calendar year. Performances will feature orchestral, band, and vocal music. Programs will include music from Classical composers, Opera, and Musical Theater. A visiting vocal ensemble from China will also be featured at one of the vocal programs. East Stroudsburg, PA, September 22, 2009 --This year’s musical performances at ESU promise to be exciting and varied. The orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Betsy Buzzelli-Clarke, will be performing works of Bizet, Rachmaninoff, and Schubert in their spring concert. The string section will feature holiday music at the fall Band Concert. The Concert Band, under the direction of Dr. Otis French, will highlight holiday music for its December program as well. The vocal programs include a wide variety of music: choral, a cappella, and jazz. The ESU Choir, under the direction of Dr. James Maroney, will feature music of Faure and Mozart for the December concert. The jazz choir, back from its tour in China, will feature music by Parker, Gillespie, and Gershwin. A visiting Chinese vocal group will join them. The annual spring Broadway Review, under the direction of Professor Terry Flatt, will perform in February at the Abeloff Auditorium at ESU. Most programs are free and open to the public. The Cecilia S. Cohen Recital Hall and Abeloff Auditorium are handicap accessible. For more information about any of the fine arts events at ESU please contact 555-555-5555.
