2. Tim had a bad fright while he slept.

3. In his dream, Tim met a mean man who said, “I want to fight.”

4. “If I win, I get the pig. If you win, the ham is still mine.”

5. Tim said in his dream, “This is not right! I do not want to fight, but you can not take the pig. He is my pet.”

6. Tim felt such a fright that it made him wake up. He ran to see Slim in his pen, and what a sight!

7. Tim saw that his pig Slim had a bright red scratch on his back. A strange man was near Slim. He shined his bright light on Slim and held a sack in his fist.

8. Then Tim’s dad said, “We did not see Slim run off. He is a bad pig at times. What can I do to pay you for your help?”

9. The man did not seem mean. He did not want to fight. The man went by Slim and gave him a pat on the back.

10. “ I am glad to help,” said the man. “I had a pet pig when I was a kid. My pig did not run off, but my Dad made him into a ham. I will not do that to a pet.”

11. This made Tim sigh. His pet was safe. The fright was not real. It was just a bad dream that came to an end that night. Slim was all right.
