1 Entrepreneurship Challenge Mary Jane Page, Halton DSB Resources, ideas and energy provide the diverse entrepreneur students with practical and engaging learning opportunities. Classic Toy Project challenges students to reinvent and market a Classic Toy. Fair Trade Week, Pizza Project and more ways to make curriculum meaningful and fun for student learning. Resources will be provided.

7 Pizza Project - overview Simulated Business environment in classroom Class takes ownership – naming streets, town Small groups 3-4 work as management teem for pizza business Lessons in pizza project, supported by text and curriculum. Fun, interactive, ongoing. Large task broken down into smaller achievement points Bonus $ along the way, for competed tasks.

9 Fair Trade - overview Teaching opportunities: Global awareness, international business, business ethics, environmental corporate responsibility, supply and demand, pricing, labour policies, labeling,… Focus on specific- coffee industry, cocoa, cotton, soccer balls Support from local Fair Trade Store.- samples, guess speaker or field trip School awareness campaign,-posters, announcements, bulletin boards, electronic… Sales opportunity for students and staff

11 White Ribbon Campaign - overview Teaching opportunities: sales, manufacturing, packaging, advertising, pricing, profit, income statement, not for profit companies, community social responsibility, market strategy, networking, awareness, image. Celebrate success,with formal presentation of cheque to charity and reception.
