2 Personal Property Management Workshop What is the DOE Property Information Database System What is the DOE Property Information Database System (PIDS)? ~ a snap shot in time… Central database for all government owned accountable personal property assets in the “DOE Property Book” Provides standardized accountable personal property and equipment information for DOE and its entities. Provides annual reporting of the DOE-owned accountable personal property and equipment + corresponding original acquisition cost (OAC). 2MA-653 ~ PMW 2013

4 Personal Property Management Workshop What gets reported in PIDS? What gets loaded in PIDS ? Accountable DOE-Owned Personal Property  Non-cap accountable (10K to $499K) end-item property and equipment with an OAC of =>$10K, having the potential for maintaining its integrity as an item (i.e., 1ea asset, not expendable due to use). Includes sensitive, high risk, precious metals, and “other” (as deemed by management) regardless of OAC.  Cap-Accountable (= > $500,000) threshold for items acquired prior to October 1, 2011 is $50,000; acquired on or after October 1, 2011, is $500,000. Capitalize individual PP&E items purchased, constructed, or fabricated in-house, including major mods or improvements to any of these items, with an anticipated service life of 2 years or more, and regardless of funding sources  Sensitive Item : Property potentially dangerous to the public safety or security if lost. stolen, or misplaced, or that shall be subject to exceptional physical security, protection, control and accountability. 4MA-653 ~ PMW 2013

6 Personal Property Management Workshop Who Reports in PIDS? DOE and DOE contractor employees; all DOE organizational entities that manage/report DOE-owned property and equipment. PIDS annual updates are to be annually conducted between October 1 and December 15.
