1 Awaken the Giant Within by Anthony Robbins
Presented by Brian Yablon

2 Chapter 1: Dreams of Destiny
We all want to believe that we have a special gift to make a difference, reach out to others, to repair the world. Oftentimes, this is buried deep within us -- a sleeping giant waiting to be awakened.

3 Concentration of Power
Most of us are unaware of the power we have -- if we can only focus our attention. “Thou shalt not major in minor things.” Most people have no idea of the giant capacity we can immediately command when we focus all of our resources on mastering a single area of our lives. On reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular. In fact, most people fail in life simply because they major in minor things.

4 How to Create Lasting Change
For changes to be of any true value, they’ve got to be lasting and consistent. Most people attempt change with a sense of fear and dread because unconsciously they believe the changes will only be temporary.

5 The Ideas are Simple First: Raise your standards
Write down all the things you will no longer accept or tolerate in your life. Write down all the things you aspire to become.

6 Finding the Right Paddle
Next: Change your limiting beliefs. Our beliefs are like unquestioned commands, telling us: how things are, what’s possible, and what’s impossible. If your raise your standards but don’t really believe you can meet them, you’ve already sabotaged yourself. Your beliefs have to match your raised standards (or you will fail).

7 Our Belief Systems Our beliefs act as our universal filters.
We have to change our belief systems to make lasting change in our lives. We must be certain we can and will meet our new standards before we actually do meet them. Beliefs shape our actions, thoughts, and feelings.

8 Adapt Finally: Change your strategy.
Find a role model and copy him/her. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel. Do something different. Finding a mentor who is successful doing what you want to do or become accomplishes several things: Tape into their knowledge. Learn what they believe, how they think, what they’re doing. You will become more effective and save you time -- you won’t repeat mistakes.

9 Take Action Lots of people know what to do, but few people actually do what they know. Knowing is not enough. You must take action.

10 Mastery The five areas that impact us the most: Emotional mastery
Physical mastery Relationship mastery Financial mastery Time mastery

11 Chapter 2: Decisions: The Pathway to Power
Write your epitaph! Then work backward: Ask yourself where you want to be. Then ask yourself how you will live today in order to reach that imagined future.

12 The Difficult is Done at Once; the Impossible Takes a Little Longer
If we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions -- we are our habits. Everything that happens in our lives begins with a decision.

13 Decisions vs. Conditions
Our destiny is determined by our decisions not the conditions of our lives. You may not be able to control your conditions, but you can control your decisions. You have to decide what results your are committed to as well as the kind of person you’re committed to becoming. If you don’t set a baseline standard for what you’ll accept in your life, you’ll find it’s easy to slip into behaviors and attitudes or a quality of life that far below what you deserve.

14 Decisions and Excuses Making true decisions allows you to move beyond excuses and change every part of your life instantly. Your past does not determine your future -- unless you allow it to.

15 Getting to Where You Want to Go
Decide what you want. Take action. Notice what is working and what is not. Change your approach until you reach your goal. Many people say they’d love to make a decision but are not sure how they can change their lives. They’re paralyzed by fear because they don’t know the exact method or path to turn their dreams into reality. Therefore, they never make the decisions that could make their lives into the wonderful experiences they dream of.

16 Decisions are NOT Dreams
Making a true decision means committing to achieving a result, then cutting yourself off from any other possibility.

17 Decisions are Power True decisions give us a sense of relief, a sense of clarity, and a sense of power.

18 Information and Power Information is power only when it is acted upon.
Then, repetition becomes skill which becomes habit.

19 Control Your Destiny The three decisions that control your destiny are: What you focus on. What things mean to you. What you do to create the results you desire.

20 Do Not Follow the Crowd! Make a plan or you’ll follow the crowd.
Plans are based upon decisions. Decisions are based upon: Your core beliefs Your life values Your references Habitual questions you ask yourself. Emotional states you experience in each moment.

21 The Process of Success Success is the result of good judgment.
Good judgment is the result of experience. Experience is often the result of bad judgment. Expect to make mistakes on your journey toward success. By changing any one of these five elements you can produce a powerful and measurable change in your life.

22 Mastery Mastery takes as long as you want it to take.
There are no failures in life; there are only results. If you don’t get the results you want, learn from your experience in order to make better decisions in the future. Our decisions are like references. We can use references to make new references. Each reference serves as an anchor for future decisions and thoughts.

23 Long-Term Focus Most of the challenges we experience come from short-term focus. Success or failure are not overnight experiences. It’s the small decisions along the way that cause people to fail. It’s failure to follow up; take action, persist, to manage our mental and emotional states, control what we focus on. Success is the result of small decisions: deciding to hold yourself to a higher standard, to contribute, to feed your mind, to not allow the environment control you.

24 Spirituality What to do in tough times?
Remember that G-d’s delays are not G-d’s denials. No season lasts forever.

25 Exercising Your Power Remember the power of making decisions.
The hardest step to achieving anything is deciding to. Make decisions often, practice them. Learn from your decisions. Stay committed but stay flexible in your approach. Enjoy.
