2 Luke 1:26-38, (NIV 1984) 26 In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee,

3 Luke 1:26-38, (NIV 1984) 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.

4 Luke 1:26-38, (NIV 1984) 28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

5 Luke 1:26-38, (NIV 1984) 29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.

25 Introduction The greatest event of human history is the arrival of the Son of God. Prophets and earthly kings are told of it. All the heavenly beings are deployed to prepare for this event. The stage is ready, but where is the messenger?
