“Lamb of God SAVIOR and Redeemer Our Propitiation” 5/6/20152

 Jesus, The Lamb of God Jn. 1:29, 36  When Jesus was baptized, John identified Him as the Lamb of God (Jn. 1:29, 36).  The significance of Jesus as the Lamb of God is far reaching, the phrase "Lamb of God" refers to Jesus as the sacrifice for sin, which God provided. 2 Cor. 5:18; 1 Jn. 4:1, 15  Through Jesus, God reconciled us to Himself by sending Jesus into the world as the propitiation for our sins, thus becoming the Savior of the world (2 Cor. 5:18; 1 Jn. 4:1, 15). 5/6/20153

 Jesus, The Lamb of God Acts 8:32; Isa. 53:7  As our Passover, Jesus was led as a sheep to the slaughter (Acts 8:32; Isa. 53:7). Isa. 53:4  Jesus bore our griefs, and carried our sorrows (Isa. 53:4). Isa. 53:5  Jesus was pierced through for our transgressions (Isa. 53:5). Isa. 53:5  Jesus was crushed for our iniquities (Isa. 53:5). Isa. 53:5  The chastening for our well- being fell upon Jesus (Isa. 53:5). 5/6/20154

 Jesus, The Lamb of God Isa. 53:5  By Jesus' scourging we are healed (Isa. 53:5). Isa. 53:6  The Lord caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Jesus (Isa. 53:6). Isa. 53:8  Jesus died for us, to whom the stroke was due (Isa. 53:8). Isa. 53:11  Jesus bore our iniquities (Isa. 53:11). Isa. 53:12  Jesus bore our sins, and interceded for us (Isa. 53:12). 5/6/20155

 Washed In Jesus' Blood Rev. 7:14  Because of our sins, we must be washed in Jesus' blood to be saved (Rev. 7:14). Rev. 7:13-15  "... 'These who are clothed in the white robes.... These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. For this reason, they are before the throne of God; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them'" (Rev. 7:13-15). 5/6/20156

 Washed In Jesus' Blood  As a result of being washed in the Jesus' blood, our names are written in the Lamb's book of life. Rev. 13:8  "All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain" (Rev. 13:8). Rev. 3:5  "'He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels'" (Rev. 3:5). 5/6/20157

 BUT we are Washed In Jesus' Blood When Baptized. 1 Jn. 1:7  Jesus' blood cleanses us from sin. Therefore, we're washed in Jesus' blood when we're cleansed from sin (1 Jn. 1:7).  People outside of Christ are washed in His blood when they are baptized. Acts 22:16  "'Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name'" (Acts 22:16). 5/6/20158

 As Christians, Jesus’ blood cleanses us of sin when we repent, confess, and pray for forgiveness. 1 Jn. 1:7-9  "... if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.... If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 Jn. 1:7-9). Acts 8:22  "'Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray the Lord that, if possible, the intention of your heart may be forgiven you'" (Acts 8:22). 5/6/20159

 What is a Savior?  A savior is a deliver and preserver.  God is our Savior Luke 1:47  The first New Testament appearance of the word "Savior" is in Luke 1:47, when Mary tells Elizabeth, "And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.“ Colossians 1:13-14  God is our Savior because He delivered us from sin and eternal damnation – Colossians 1:13-14. Ephesians 2:4-7  And He is our deliver because He protects and preserves us in Christ – Ephesians 2:4-7. 5/6/201510

5/6/201511 He rescued us For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins" (Col. 1:13-14).

5/6/201512 made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus "But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus" (Eph. 2:4-7).

 God Saves us in Jesus  Evident from the Scriptures above, God saves us in Christ. Col. 1:13-14  He transfers us into the kingdom of Christ, wherein we're saved (Col. 1:13-14). Eph. 2:5  He makes us alive together with Christ (Eph. 2:5). Eph. 2:6  He seats us in the heavenly places in Christ (Eph. 2:6). Eph. 2:7  He'll show us the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ (Eph. 2:7). 5/6/201513

 Jude expressly tells us that God is our Savior through Christ. Jude 1:24-25  "Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ.. " (Jude 1:24-25). 5/6/201514

1 Jn. 4:14  John tells us that "the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world" (1 Jn. 4:14).  Since Jesus, Savior of the World – it means Jesus has been our Savior from birth, as announced by angels the day He was born. Lk. 2:11  "For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord" (Lk. 2:11). 5/6/201515

 God Saves us in Jesus  During His earthly ministry, sincere and honest people clearly knew Jesus was the Savior of the world. Jn. 4:40-42  "So when the Samaritans came to Jesus, they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. Many more believed because of His word; and they were saying to the woman, "It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world" (Jn. 4:40-42). 5/6/201516

 BUT Jesus is the Savior of People in His Kingdom – as such Jesus is our Savior. Col. 1:10-11  "Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you" (Col. 1:10-11). 5/6/201517

 BUT Jesus is the Savior of People in His Kingdom – as such Jesus is our Savior.  God transfers us into the kingdom of Christ when we obey the gospel, resulting in forgiveness. Col. 1:12-14  "Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins" (Col. 1:12-14). 5/6/201518

 Jesus, Savior of People in His Kingdom Col. 1:14  We are forgiven at the time God transfers into the kingdom of Christ (Col. 1:14). Col. 2:12- 13  We are forgiven at the time we're baptized (Col. 2:12- 13).  Therefore, God transfers us into the kingdom of Christ when we are buried with Him in baptism. 5/6/201519

 Jesus, Savior of People in His Kingdom  Other scriptures indicate this also: Jn. 3:5  Jesus says we must be born of water and Spirit to enter the kingdom (Jn. 3:5).  To be born of water is to be baptized. Rom. 6:3; Gal. 3:27  Paul states that we are baptized into Christ; hence, we're baptized into Christ's kingdom when we're baptized (Rom. 6:3; Gal. 3:27). 5/6/201520

 Jesus, Savior of People in His Church Heb. 12:22, 28; Lk. 22:29-20  The kingdom is the church, given to Jesus by God (Heb. 12:22, 28; Lk. 22:29-20). Rev. 1:6  Jesus has made us a kingdom (Rev. 1:6). Acts 19:8; 20:25  Paul preached, persuading people about the kingdom of God (Acts 19:8; 20:25).  Note: Jesus' kingdom is not limited to the church, but the church is referred to as His kingdom. 5/6/201521

 Jesus, Savior of People in His Church  As with Christ's kingdom, we see regarding the church: Acts 2:47  We are added to the church when we are baptized (Acts 2:47). 1 Cor. 12:13; Eph. 1:22-23  We are baptized into the body, which is the church (1 Cor. 12:13; Eph. 1:22-23). Eph. 5:23  Jesus is the Savior of the church (Eph. 5:23).  NOTE: ONLY ONE BODY – SINCE HE IS THE BUILDER OF JUST ONE! 5/6/201522

Rev. 7:14  The redeemed in heaven are people who were washed in Jesus' blood (Rev. 7:14). Rom. 5:9  We are justified by His blood, and saved from the wrath of God (Rom. 5:9). Eph. 1:7  In Christ we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses (Eph. 1:7). Heb. 9:12  Christ entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption, through His blood (Heb. 9:12). 5/6/201523

Heb. 9:14  The blood of Christ cleanses our conscience from dead works, so we can serve God (Heb. 9:14). 1 Pet. 1:18-19  We are redeemed with the blood of Jesus (1 Pet. 1:18-19). 1 Jn. 1:7  Jesus' blood cleanses us from all sin (1 Jn. 1:7). Rev. 1:5  Jesus releases us from our sins by His blood (Rev. 1:5).  Jesus is our propitiation through faith. In other words, through faith we have access to Christ as our propitiation, and the forgiveness of sins. 5/6/201524

 Though Christ Is The Lamb of God and Savior of the World (John 3:16), the terms Savior and Redeemer become more specific.  Christ is NOT The Savior Of:  THE WORLD (all humanity)  Paul States Rather that:  HE IS THE SAVIOR of the BODY; HIS CHURCH!  Those who have been Redeemed. 5/6/201525

 ARE YOU ONE OF THE REDEEMED?  ARE YOU IN THE ONE BODY THE CHURCH OF CHRIST? 5/6/201526
