Leaf Cutting Types Of Stem Cutting: Hard wood Cutting Semi Hard Wood Cutting. Soft Wood Cutting

2 Hard Wood Cutting : The plants which are propagated by hard wood cutting are Rose, Hibiscus, Jasmine, Bougainvillea, Adulsa. Procedure : Select a branch of pencil thickness from the past season. Detach the branch from the parent plant. Remove all its leaves. Make cuttings of 15 to 20 cm length. Give a straight cut at upper end. Give a slanting cut near the node at the lower end. Plant the cutting inclined in the medium. Water the pot immediately.

5 2) Semi Hard Wood Cutting:
The plants which are propagated by semi hard wood cutting are Hibiscus, Jasmin, Duranta, Croton, Arelia. Procedure: Select a branch of pencil thickness from the past season. Cut a tender and soft terminal end from the mother plant. Cut at 15 cm length. The lower cut on the cutting is made close to the node. Retain few top most leaves. Remove the lower leaves. Water the bed immediately.

7 Soft Wood Cutting Procedure:
The plants which are propagated by semi hard wood cutting are Golden Duranta, Pilea, Ficus, Begonia Procedure: Select a branch of pencil thickness from the past season. Cut the tender, soft terminal. Remove the basal leaves which would be buried in the soil. Give a slanting cut at the lower side. Plant the cutting after making a cavity in the medium to avoid breaking of the soft cutting. Water the pot immediately after planting.
