11 Rides and mobility support Socialization opportunities Info and referral NORTHWEST VALLEY CONNECT will enhance the opportunities that older adults have to be meaningfully involved within their communities through enhanced access to community resources, social opportunities and transportation.

12  Northwest Valley Connect believes senior transportation can be enhanced in the region through a combination of efforts: o Public transportation enhancements, building on work of Northwest Valley Transportation Stakeholders Group o Continued advocacy to ensure regional collaboration of public transportation enhancements o Public-private collaboration and innovation, through development of hybrid model using a mobility manager, volunteers and paid drivers to fill existing gaps in service.

13  Mobility Management Services o One-call center o Optimize use of existing resources o Identify gaps in transportation services (evenings/weekends)  Senior transportation service providing door-through-door service to fill identified voids o Combination of volunteer and paid drivers for 24/7 service o Paid dispatch using transportation software to promote trip efficiency

14  Volunteers o Volunteer drivers can use own car or one of the small fleet of donated vehicles o Volunteer drivers can be compensated on a per mile basis or can donate miles  Revenue o In these models, riders typically pay an annual membership fee and a ride fare per trip. Alternatively, may use “suggested donation” o Grants and donations are expected to comprise 50-75% of annual program costs o Vehicle donation program: most donated vehicles will be liquidated; a few will be kept in fleet o “Scholarships” available for low income residents
