1. Super Scholarship 2015

2. Good News, Bad News  As a class, you have done exceptionally well in earning your scholarship funds!!  That leaves less money for Super Scholarships   About $60,000 is available (that’s a very rough estimate)

3. Timeline  March 3-Scholarship Application Available  April 23—Application due and all accompanying tasks completed  Early May—Committee reviews applications and selects recipients  June 4—Recipients of Super Scholarship are announced at Senior Awards

4. Lindsay Dollars for Scholars  Your REAP Scholarship is disbursed through Lindsay Dollars for Scholars  Therefore, you must create an online account at lindsay.dollarsforscholars.org in order to receive your REAP scholarship funding  Create an account and a profile.  Answer “yes” when asked if you participate in REAP then choose REAP from the list of scholarships and submit the application.

5. Two Separate Processes  The online piece for Lindsay Dollars for Scholars is a step that EVERY REAP recipient must complete regardless of whether applying for the Super Scholarship.  To apply for the Super Scholarship, you must complete a separate paper application.

6. Application Elements  The following elements will be examined in your application:  Leadership  Academics  Community Service  Essay

7. Leadership  Be sure to address all the ways you have shown and grown your leadership potential  List formal roles in the application  Discuss any informal or indirect ways you have shown leadership in your essay

8. Academics  You must request an official transcript as part of your application packet.  Be sure to request this well before the application deadline.  Your academic accomplishments will be considered as part of your application.  If you believe that your transcript does not fully illustrate your academic accomplishments, be sure to address this in your essay

9. Community Service  Include a thorough history of your community service efforts and accomplishments  Address the significance of your community service in your essay

10. Essay  Much like the UC Personal Statement, the essay in this scholarship is your opportunity to distinguish yourself from the other applicants  Be sincere, honest, and yourself in this essay  Give a complete picture of who you are and how you navigated your high school years to get where you are now
