1 Corinthians 16:1-2 “ 1 Now about the collection for God’s people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do. 2 On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.”

2 Corinthians 9:6-7 “ 6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

But God allows us to enjoy what we have in life, and He asks that we give only a portion back as a sign of our thanksgiving and faithfulness. Yet how much is that portion ? And what are the principles behind biblical spiritual giving ?

Money and giving are actually tools of God to help us in our walk as His disciples, in our transformation to become more like Jesus.

Jesus recognized the value of money but He saw it as a means for us to love God and to love others.
