If you have misplaced your package, see your Family Services Coordinator for tax information. Please join us on Field day on April 13. Come for games and lunch with your child. As the weather changes from winter to spring, please remember that Head Start families may obtain waivers for Parks and Recreation activities. See Family Services Coordinator for detail and enroll your children in an organized sport or activity. Remember April is Child Abuse Prevention Month! There are many times when patience with our little ones can be stretched pretty thin. Remember you have alternatives to hurtful words or punishment. For example take a time out for your children and yourself. Take a parenting class with other parents to learn what works. Ask for help. Visit the Parent Resource Center or call your Family Services Coordinator for ideas, resources or a listening ear. Reminder: Spring Break will be from April 18-April 22 for Fredericksburg Regional Head Start and from April 18-April 25 for King George. Kindergarten Registration requirements: Although each school district has different requirements to register your child for kindergarten, parents must provide Elementary school with the following items: Birth Certificate – Original, not photocopy (hospital certificates not accepted) or Passport (if not U.S. citizen) Updated Immunization Record Current Physical (dated within 1 year of entering school for the first time) These documents must be signed by a physician and recorded on a State Health Form, which may be obtained from your physician, Health Department, or school office. Proof of City Residency ( a current utility bill with the parent’s name and Fredericksburg address listed and a current lease or mortgage identifying the family as the lessee )
