10 The American Library Association (ALA) ; collaboration with the National Constitution Center (NCC) Application process to ALA; turned down for John Adams exhibition back in 2009, applied for Lincoln in 2010, were turned down, they added new sites and we were accepted. Partners: History, education, music Volunteers: Exhibit consisted of 5 panels so we did not use docents. We did have volunteers from the schools of Education and History available to help with large school groups and one of our history professors spoke to all school groups. 2,250 viewers, 5 schools Donation of Civil War book collection

Sought funding Partners: Kennesaw State and their Museum of History & Holocaust Education, Gainesville State, departments of History, Education, and Music, admissions Docents and ambassadors from History and Education; one professor from each department talked to all school tour groups 8 public schools, 1,600 students, 4,000 total viewers

16   Choose partners and projects conscientiously.  Make sure you are aware of the size and scope of the project.  Over plan. You will not regret it.  Form a committee, librarians love committees.  If you have volunteers/docents:  Be clear on your and the exhibit group’s expectations, messages and behavioral guidelines. Train them.  Guide them. Praise them. Reward them. Lessons Learned
