3 Population Groups and Languages Black : The Nguni, comprising the Zulu, Xhosa, Ndebele and Swazi people The Sotho-Tswana, who include the Southern, Northern and Western Sotho (Tswana people) The Tsonga The Venda White : Afrikaners, descendants of Dutch, German and French Huguenot who came to the country from the 17th century onwards. English-speakers, descendants of settlers from the British Isles who came to the country from the late 18th century onwards. Coloured : A people of mixed lineage descended from slaves brought to the country from east and central Africa, the indigenous Khoisan who lived in the Cape at the time, indigenous Africans and whites. The majority speak Afrikaans. Indian / Asian The major part of the South African Asian population is Indian in origin; many of them descended from indentured workers brought in the nineteenth century to work on the sugar plantations. There is also a significant group of Chinese South Africans and Vietnamese South Africans.

Pray for: 1.Continued Global Support. 2. The numerous Church Outreach Ministries that reach these souls.

6 Prayer for South Africa Violent Crime The country's murder rate started increasing again in 2013/2014: Rape and Hijacking statistics are similarly high. South Africans are “aggressive”. We play hard and we fight hard, and we welcome you into our homes with a no-holds-barred attitude. Unfortunately this “aggression” is quite evident in our crime statistics as well. Pray for: 1.A Continued Government Effort to Reduce Crime 2. 7 Prayer for South Africa Economic/Employment Despite Being the most developed country in Africa South Africa face these Employment Issues: Weakened Education System does not promote fair BEE transformation Many skilled Professionals are leaving SA because of a lack of jobs for their ethnic persuasion, and a fear of economic/political stability. Pray for/against: 1.A national focus on Entrepreneurship 2.Fear in, especially, white South African professionals
