Mr. Wenger is your sub today. Don’t forget to sign in. Get out your chapter 2,your equation sheet, and plenty of paper. TAKE a picture of the following slides.

Note from the office for Friday Sep 12: Broncos Due to some scheduling concerns with the gym and different groups being involved in the pep rally, we are going to try something new this year. Our first pep rally will be Friday, September 12 and will be at the end of 2 nd block. The bell schedule will be: 1 st period 8:50 – 9:20 2 nd period 9:25 – 10:35 Release for pep rally – 10:35 Start pep rally – 10:45 Dismiss from pep rally – 11:15 3 rd block and lunch 11:25 The rest of the day will be a regular schedule.

Today’s assignment and some tips… Go through all example problems and exercises from pages 19-30. Work them out on your own paper. Check answers with solutions and “exercise” answers are on page 44. Page 38, questions 2.3.4.6.8.9 Page 39-40, problems 1.2.3.5.6.16.17a.18 For each problem, write down your knowns and unknown before looking for the correct equation Watch for variables that are 0, like x o, v o, a, or v possibly. Pull those from equations to condense equation. *Remember, if v o is 0, the v o t would both be taken out if they are multiplied by each other. Use units in your work!!! Show cancellations. Convert values to like units. For example, if velocity is given in km/h and time is given in s, then convert velocity to m/s to work with it in the equation.

Equations you may need today: v=Δx/Δt a= Δv/Δt

Answers to the Problems portion at the end of the chapter: 1.72.3 km/h 2.0.6 h 3.0.061 km or 61 m (hint: convert velocity to km/s or m/s before starting problem) 5.-2.5 cm/s 6.0.78 cm/s 16.4.3 m/s 2 (convert velocity to m/s before starting 17.7.41 m/s 2 18.5.2 s (convert velocities to m/s before starting. Important: It is important that you do not skip any of today’s assignment including the example problems from the chapter. Your familiarity with ALL the material will be a huge OAR to your test grade.

Test next week on p-t, v-t, and a-t graphs. Have a phun phriday. GO BRONCOS!!!!
