In Christ’s Name….Amen Sunday 1 Thank God that He remains Jehovah Jireh, our provider and also for approved funding from Expanded Public Works Program that will benefit our volunteers program. Monday 2 Pray for safety for young people during the school holidays. Tuesday 3 Thank God for Stacie Adams, who is volunteering with Khayalethu for 3 months. She spent 2 years with YFC several years ago, and is now almost qualified as a social worker. Wednesday 4 Pray for Stacie as she reconnects with staff and the work that we do at YFC. Thursday 5 Pray for the Change Agents team who will be running a program at Christian Life Church that it will be a success. Friday 6 Pray for staff who will take leave to rest well and come back refreshed. Saturday 7 Thank God for the donations from Mndeni Meat and Albany Bakery in support of Khayalethu’s events to celebrate Youth Day. Sunday 8 Thank God for the successful Outreach programs that the Change Agents team have been running during the school holiday. Monday 9 Chris Fannin, a donor from Switzerland, will be visiting YFC this week. Pray for this time, that it will be motivational for him and the project he serves. Tuesday 10 Pray for Tineyi and Thulani, as they work on a funding proposal to USAID this month. Wednesday 11 Thank God for Marije and Caroline, our international volunteers who are working in the shelters. They are assisting the children with homework and life skills. Thursday 12 Pray for the process of mid year reviews that are currently taking place. This is a good time to evaluate and plan for the second half of the year. Pray for Sboniso Nzuza, who facilitates this process. Friday 13 Thank God for the Support Services team who continuously serve projects with dedication. Saturday 14 Thank God for the discount of paint received from Natal Associated Agencies, which is used to paint the International Volunteers house. Romans 5:5 Tuesday 17 Thank God for all the opportunities to network and share about the work of YFC/KZN and for the partnerships that have been built through networks. Wednesday 18 Thank God for the opportunity to manage a display table at the Youth Expo held at the Pietermaritzburg Railway Station in June. Thursday 19 Thank God for the families who work jointly with YFC toward the development of their children. Friday 20 Thank God for the donation of blankets from Varsity College PMB. The blankets were distributed to Khayalethu Community and Care Unit Programs. Saturday 21 Thank God for Lisa Ellis, our Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator, she has been very successful in marketing the work of YFC recently. Sunday 22 Pray for young people who are still living on the streets, that they would see the importance of making the decision to return home. Monday 23 Thank God for Sphe Mbatha from the May’khethele project who assists Khayalethu in transporting children to school when their vehicles are being repaired. Tuesday 24 Thank God for the many students that volunteer their time at Khayalethu, they make such a difference in the lives of the children. Wednesday 25 Thank God for the solar geyser that was installed at Khayalethu boys shelter. Pray for wisdom for staff as they use this opportunity to teach the children about the environment and saving money on electricity. Thursday 26 Thank God for the donation of a microwave and couch from 31 Club for Tennyson House. Friday 27 Thank God for the donation from Department of Social Development that enabled us to buy linen for the Tennyson House and Khayalethu shelters. Children can sleep warm and comfortable. Saturday 28 Pray for Marije as she works with the interns on skills for successful interview and job applications. Sunday 29 Pray for our funding proposal that is under review at USAID. Monday 30 Thank God for children who decide to return home, that they would adapt to the family environment.
