Unlike Medicare, Medicaid and other insurance companies, payments for these services do not require contractual adjustments. From an approved claim, if you charge $495, you will get paid $495  What happens if the party at fault is not insured? Medicount will continue to operate as a soft billing company. If it is determined that the at fault party was not insured at the time of service, the patient is responsible for the balance. Three bills will be sent to the party before the account is deemed uncollectible and written off as bad debt.
