Kickapoo Baseball Scrip Program Users Guide

What is Scrip? From the shopwithscrip.com website: “Scrip is Fundraising While You Shop®. This amazingly successful fundraising program works for any school, church, team, club or other non-profit! Scrip turns everyday shopping into cash for your organization when families use retail gift cards to pay for everyday purchases (like gas and groceries) instead of the usual credit/debit card or other money. Scrip works equally well for onetime fundraising goals or year-round programs. Great Lakes Scrip Center® has helped thousands of organizations earn more than 500 million dollars over the last 20 years.”

Top Five Family Benefits 1.Plan ahead to buy groceries, gas and other household expenses with gift cards from Scrip. 2.Shop in-store or online with participating retailers. 3.Use gift cards to pay at checkout, just like you would use a credit/debit card, but without the fraud risk. 4.Scrip program earnings are much greater than credit card rewards. 5.No unnecessary spending, you spend your planned household budget at stores you already frequent. 50% of earnings generated by your family go towards your athlete’s individual player fees while 50% will go to the booster club general fund to finance field improvements, equipment, etc. This WILL reduce other fundraisers where players are asked to “sell” to their neighbors, family, etc.

Getting Started www.shopwithscrip.com www.shopwithscrip.com Visit the website and there you will find all the information you need to get familiarized with the program. Once you are familiarized, just simply follow these steps: 1.On the homepage click on the “Register” button in the upper right quadrant. 2.Fill out your personal information and use the enrollment code for our booster club which is EDB7BE6842128. In the “Student Name” field enter your athlete’s name and leave the “Classroom/Group” field blank. 3.Sign up for PrestoPay, as this is the method we are going to use for collection of money generated by this program.

Getting Started (cont)…. (Presto Pay) Login to your shopwithscrip.com account, checking the PrestoPay hyperlink on the left side. Input your banking info - it will tell you to expect two small deposits in your checking account in the next couple of day to verify they are linked to the right account. Check your account for those deposits which will appear in a couple of days and go back to presto pay and confirm those amounts. It will then generate a 4 digit code. Please pass this code onto Rick Below at 417-496-0166 or email rickbelow@gmail.com.rickbelow@gmail.com *NOTE* Each Scrip Order charges $0.15 as a processing fee to your bank account. That is per ORDER, not per ITEM. So if you order 10 cards from different merchants, the total processing fee is only $0.15.

How to Shop With Scrip Let’s say I want to find a restaurant which I can use a Scrip product for dinner tonight. What I would do is sign in and click on shop in the upper right quadrant. You then can select a category such as dining and card type as Scripnow. This yields a screen similar to the following restaurants that have Scripnow which has an immediate “card” available which you can print at home.

Example (cont)….. I hover my mouse over the Chili’s Logo and find that it has Physical Card (with the ability to re-load) and Scripnow and that Chili’s rebates 11% (this varies from store to store). You then just select the amount and add to cart for checkout. As a bonus I see that it is also accepted at Macaroni Grill, On the Border, etc.

Example (cont)….. As you can see, in the checkout section, it shows the contribution to our program to be $5.50 (11% of the $50 value). You would be charged $50.15 for this transaction from your PrestoPay which debits your checking acct. The booster club receives $2.75 and your player is credited $2.75 toward their player fees. You print the “card” and that’s it, quite simple!

Mobile website for your Phone! Myscripwallet.com is the website you can use with your smartphone when out in town. You can purchase Scripnow eCards and reload previously purchased re-loadable cards. Look at the re-loadable cards. If you find one of those you use often and have presto pay, you can reload your card from home. No shipping cost or waiting for the next order of physical cards.

Food (or drink) For Thought: Scripnow gives you instant access to your printable cards and there are 722 participating retailers (and growing) on the shopwithscrip program including Walmart (2.5%), Dominoes(8%), Applebees (8%) Itunes (5%), and hundreds more. You can also purchase re-loadable cards. After you receive your initial card which takes just a few days, you can reload yourself online and basically have a running gift card which again applies the % of what you reload to offset your players fees! Stores like CVS pharmacies, AMC Movie Theatres, Starbucks, Home Depot/Lowes and many hotel chains participate. You can get family and friends in on this too. They can sign up themselves and name your player on the initial form, or you can buy the cards for them and they can reimburse you. There is a “gift” option which makes it easy!

Going Forward Our future plan is to ensure local grocery stores such as Harter House, Pricecutter, Play it Again Sports, etc. are included as choices for this program. We will be sharing details of how this will work shortly. Please sign up at shopwithscrip.com and get started. There is no cost to your family other than the 15 cent transaction fee for each order. This is offset by the direct reduction of your player’s fees for spring and summer ball! This will benefit both your family and the Kickapoo Baseball program! We will plan on placing an order for those who want physical gift cards and re-loadable cards (great for your kids to have for subway and other restaurants)! Questions?- Rick Below 417-496-0166
