2 Meeting Purpose: Education This tour and meeting is designed to: – Share information with residents in the neighborhoods that are closest to the proposed ballpark, and most affected by construction of a ballpark. – Present information that has been developed by citizen representatives advising the city through groups such as the Diridon commission – Discuss how impacts of a ballpark may affect different residential areas. Date: November 6, 2010 Time: Tour-Noon to 12:45, Discussion-1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Meeting Point for Tour: Diridon Station. 3 Tour Background A baseball stadium has been discussed in San Jose for more than a decade In 2009 the mayor and city council directed the formation of a Diridon Good Neighbor Commission to make recommendations regarding development of the ballpark and Diridon station areas. In 2011 major league baseball will announce whether it supports a team in San Jose.

15 Facts and Figures Timeline: If a new park is approved in 2011, baseball can be played there in 2015 or 2016. Economic Impacts: $130 million in new annual downtown spending. $1.5 million in city general fund revenue Jobs: The city estimates the ballpark will employ, 2,100 full and part-time/seasonal workers. 980 jobs will be new to the area. Additional jobs will be created by ballpark construction. Site: This site has long been preferred because it is big enough and is at the intersection of Caltrain, Capital Corridor, Bart, Light Rail VTA, and High-speed rail lines
