Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? I.Why Should Christians Pursue Good Works? They are the appropriate response to the free gift of eternal life (Rom 6; Eph 2:10; James 2:14-26).

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. James 2:14-17

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? I.Why Should Christians Pursue Good Works? They are the appropriate response to the free gift of eternal life (Rom 6; Eph 2:10; James 2:14-26). Our purpose is to glorify God (Mt. 5:16).

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? I.Why Should Christians Pursue Good Works? They are the appropriate response to the free gift of eternal life (Rom 6; Eph 2:10; James 2:14-26). Our purpose is to glorify God (Mt. 5:16). We will receive reward for persevering (2 Tim 4:7-8).

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8

There is punishment and discipline for disobedience (1 Cor 5:1-5; 11:27-32; Heb 12:5-6).

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, for a man has his father's wife. And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you. For though absent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing.

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? When you are assembled in the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 5:1-5

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died. But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged. But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world. 1 Corinthians 11:29-32

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? I.Why Should Christians Pursue Good Works? II.Are There Christians Who Fail to Persevere?

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire. 1 Corinthians 3:10-15

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith, among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme. 1 Timothy 1:18-20

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? Now King Solomon loved many foreign women, along with the daughter of Pharaoh: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite women, from the nations concerning which the Lord had said to the people of Israel, “You shall not enter into marriage with them, neither shall they with you, for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods.”

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? Solomon clung to these in love. He had 700 wives, princesses, and 300 concubines. And his wives turned away his heart. For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not wholly true to the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father. 1 Kings 11:1-4

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? I.Why Should Christians Pursue Good Works? II.Are There Christians Who Fail to Persevere? III.Why Does This Matter? Growth comes from security (Heb 5:11-6:2). Security comes from the work of Christ (1 John 5:11-13).

Can I Live Like Hell and Go to Heaven? And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:11-13
