NCAE Litigation Judge Hobgood’s Order Teachers who earned career status before 07/26/2013 enactment of the Career Status Repeal have contractual rights in the status and to the protections established by the Career Status Law Declared repeal of Career Status Law unconstitutional with regard to teachers who had received career status Declared 25% provision unconstitutional

3. Permanently enjoined the laws implementation and enforcement Decision appealed to N.C. Court of Appeals

4. Teachers Average 7 % salary increase Two major changes to the way teachers are paid: 1. Longevity payments eliminated 2. Salary schedule collapsed from 37 to 6 steps Salary bumps will occur at each sixth year step Base salary capped at $50,000.00 in year 25 Current teachers placed on schedule according to the year of experience for 2014-2015 Current teachers on last six (6) steps of schedule will be grandfathered; keep their longevity and receive a one-time bonus of $1,000.00

5. Master’s/Advanced Degree Salary Supplements: Reinstated if one course was completed to 08/01/13 and qualified under SBE policy in effect 06/30/13

6. Principals and Assistant Principals Modification to Placement Masters and Doctoral degree supplement Maintain longevity Salary changes based on reassignment No increase - one time bonus of $809.00

7. Central Office $500.00 annual salary increase Maintain longevity Masters and Doctoral degrees supplement
