What’s happening on CEDARVALE AVE City’s contractor will replace: sanitary sewer 20m south of Carruthers Lane to Lumsden Avenue combined sewer from Danforth Avenue to Milverton Boulevard (including at the intersection of Danforth Avenue) any City-owned portion of any substandard water services Building a Better Toronto Together

4. Key Construction Activities – CEDARVALE AVENUE Information on sequence of work Building a Better Toronto Together Sewer & Water Service Replacement Sewer work to be performed in stages Road to be excavated and trench dug All sewer and water services that do not meet City’s Design Criteria will be replaced from pipeline to property line within the project limits Water service value box will be relocated to property line, where possible Water to be shut-off as necessary Any temporary water service disruptions will be communicated to those affected Work areas to be restored Road, Sidewalk and Curb Repairs Permanent repairs will be made to sewer trenches and utility cuts Sidewalk and curbs to be repaired where required Abandoned TTC streetcar tracks to be removed on Cedarvale Avenue within the project limits

What’s happening on OAK PARK AVENUE City’s contractor will: replace sanitary/combined sewer from Danforth Avenue to 75 metres south of Everett Crescent replace City-owned portion of any substandard water services resurface road from Danforth Avenue to Cosburn Avenue improve intersection at Oak Park Avenue and Cosburn Avenue Building a Better Toronto Together

Key Construction Activities – OAK PARK AVENUE Building a Better Toronto Together Sewer & Water Service Replacement Sewer work to be performed in stages Road to be excavated and trench dug All sewer and water services that do not meet City’s Design Criteria will be replaced from pipeline to property line with the project limits Water service value box will be relocated to property line, where possible Water to be shut-off Any temporary water service disruptions will be communicated to those affected Work areas to be restored Road, Sidewalk and Curb Repairs Permanent repairs will be made to sewer trenches and utility cuts Sidewalk and curbs to be repaired where required

Intersection Improvements at Oak Park Avenue and Cosburn Avenue Building a Better Toronto Together adjustments to catchbasin/maintenance holes, sidewalk, curb, grassed area resurfacing the intersection with new asphalt Improvements at the intersection will include: extending the curb at the southwest corner to reduce the turning radius and improve pedestrian safety

9. What to expect during Construction Access to local streets and sidewalk to be maintained Driveway access may be temporarily restricted when within the construction zone (affected homes will be notified 48 hours in advance) No parking is permitted in active construction zone Alternate parking will be available on local streets not within the construction zone Garbage pick up will be maintained. Please label your bins/containers with your address. Work hours will be Monday-Friday: 7am-9pm, Saturday:9am-5pm, Sundays and late evening and/or overnight work may be required and minimized as much as possible Expect occasional water supply disruptions, dust, noise and vibrations during construction Every effort will be made to reduce the inconvenience Building a Better Toronto Together

10. Preparing for Construction If you have landscaping, fences, irrigation systems or other physical features within the City property limits, they may be in the way of the construction We ask that you remove these items prior to the beginning of construction to avoid damage The City will not be responsible for damage to any privately owned items installed on the City’s property Building a Better Toronto Together

11. Replacing Substandard Water Services A water service connection is the pipe that connects your house to the City’s water distribution system to deliver water into your home There are two portions to the water service connection – the privately-owned portion and the publicly-owned portion Your water service connection is considered substandard if: made of lead or galvanized metal smaller than the City’s 19 mm standard size leaking or broken double connection, delivering water to more than one residential property Building a Better Toronto Together

12. Interested in replacing your portion of the Water Service? The City will replace the City-owned portion of any substandard water service connection discovered during construction If you are interested in replacing your privately-owned portion of the water service, you can: –Contact the City’s contractor for a private quote (will be included in Construction Notice) –Arrange with your own contractor to have your portion replaced before or after construction begins Building a Better Toronto Together

13. Next Steps Cedarvale Avenue Engineering design work is nearly complete. The City will be hiring a contractor in March Construction expected to start in April 2015 and be completed by September 2015 Oak Park Avenue Engineering design work will be completed in Summer 2015 Contractor to be hired in Fall 2015 Construction expected to start in Fall 2015 and be completed by Summer 2016 Two weeks before construction, a Construction Notice will be issued with more details on when work will begin and stages of construction Building a Better Toronto Together
