4 3 Bexar County WCID #10 2 -- Four Wells Capable of 6,552,000 gal/day --- Over 2 1/2 Time Worst Case Usage -- Booster Station Capable of 2,160,000 Gallons -- Thirty-Five Miles of Water Mains -- Twenty-Eight Miles of Sewer Mains -- Share Maintenance Facilities With City in Exchange for Water/Sewer Service -- Three Storage Facilities Store 1,085,000 Gallons -- FACILITIES

5 4 Bexar County WCID #10 -- We are responsible for fixing day-to-day problems --- Water Main Breaks --- Sewer Mains and Laterals to Property Line -- Have a supervisor and technician on-call 24/7 -- Major repairs such as sewer rehab are handled thru competative bid process, e.g., $440,000 contract 3 - Maintenance of System

6 5 Bexar County WCID #10 -- Finances -- In Early Years, All Construction Paid for With Bonds--Revenue From Services Paid off Bonds -- Last Bonds Paid off in 1998 -- Board Believes Strongly in Long-Range Planning -- Plans to Avoid Borrowing Money -- Day-to-Day Operations Paid for by Revenue Stream -- All Current Infrastructure Activities Paid for From Reserves Built Over Time -- Future Expenditures Given High Priority Today 4 -- Infrastructure for Development Paid for by Developer --- Booster Station Upgrade

7 6 Bexar County WCID #10 - Major Issues Facing District -- Water Rights and Aging Wastewater Infrastructure --- Both Expensive - Water Rights is Toughest Problem-Keeping Tanks Full -- Currently Own 1625 Acre Feet (AF) of Rights -- Annual Consumption in 1200-1300 AF Range -- However, We Face a 40% Reduction in Extreme Drought--1625 is Reduced to 975 --- Not Enough to Meet Demand -- To Be Completely Safe, We Need to Buy 200+ AF at a Cost of $400,000+ -- Is a Very High Price to Prepare for Infrequent Event -- Problem Complicated by EAA & Legislature --- Board of Directors Evaluating Problem 5

10 9 - Rebate Programs -- Toilet Rebates - $75 Each for up to 3 -- Washing Machine Rebate - $100 for Qualifying Machine 8 - Plumbing Retrofit Program -- One Free Kit Per Customer - Shower Heads, Aerators, Literature -- Pick Up at Our Office at City Hall

11 10 Bexar County WCID #10 - Watering Restrictions -- No Irrigation Between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM --- Can Hand Water Anytime -- Currently No Restriction on Day You Can Water -- We Recommend Setting a Schedule for One Day/Week If Last Digit of Your Street Number is…Then Irrigate on… 0 - 1 Monday 2 - 3 Tuesday 4 - 5 Wednesday 6 - 7 Thursday 8 - 9 Friday -- Restrictions Start When Aquifer Drops Below 665’ --- Will Limit Irrigation to One Day Per Week 9
