8 Requirements for a standardised WBS Coding System Within the Business a series of unique numbers or letters must be developed to identify each level in the WBS The coding system must allow summary calculations (of cost & time) at each level The coding system must relate to the general ledger used by the Accounts Department (which may also identify type of asset, etc.) The codes must be relevant to each business unit
