6 BIG IDEA 1 Peter 2:13-17 Voluntarily acknowledge and accept every authority God has placed in your life… including the government. What does it mean? Why is it so important? How do we act upon this?

7 1 Peter 2:13-14 13 Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, 14 or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.

8 What does it mean? Voluntarily acknowledge and accept every authority God has placed in your life… including the government. Submission means to recognize and voluntarily accept the demands/laws of government authorities. There are exceptions. Submission does not diminish personhood.

9 Why is it so important? Voluntarily acknowledge and accept every authority God has placed in your life… including the government.
