Matthew 15:14 Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.

Regeneration The act of God by which He imparts eternal life to those who are dead in their sin, thus making them His Children

Matthew 11:27 All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

The New Birth: Part II I.The Sacrifice of Christ

Numbers 21:4-9 From Mount Hor they set out by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom. And the people became impatient on the way. 5 And the people spoke against God and against Moses, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this worthless food.” 6 Then the L ORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died.

Numbers 21:4-9 7 And the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the L ORD and against you. Pray to the L ORD, that he take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. 8 And the L ORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole, and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.” 9 So Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on a pole. And if a serpent bit anyone, he would look at the bronze serpent and live.

Isaiah 42:22 Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.

The New Birth: Part II I.The Sacrifice of Christ II.The Plan of God a) The Act – God’s Great Love b) The Result – God’s Great Gift c) The Purpose – God’s People

The New Birth: Part II I.The Sacrifice of Christ II.The Plan of God a) The Act – God’s Great Love

Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved

Ephesians 3:17-19 …so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

The Love of God Could we with ink the ocean fill And were the skies of parchment made; Were every stalk on earth a quill And every man a scribe by trade, To write the love of God above Would drain the ocean dry, Nor could the scroll contain the whole Though stretched from sky to sky.

The Love of God O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall for evermore endure— The saints’ and angels’ song.

Psalm 145:9 The L ORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made.
