1 The Argentina Society of Hypertension has developed its "Annual Scholarship Program to Stimulate Research in Hypertension". This is a program of financial support for research projects in hypertension for its members under 45 years of age. To this end, has ordered the formation of a "Stimulus Scholarship Fund for Research in Hypertension," comprised 10% of net profits derived from the Argentine Congress on Hypertension of the previous year. Stimulus Grants are aimed at three areas of interest: 1) Epidemiology of hypertension, 2) Basic research in hypertension, and 3) clinical research in hypertension. www.saha.org.ar

2 The Argentina Society of Hypertension has organized a "Training Program in Human Resources on Hypertension", and to that end, resources have been allocated to provide "Scholarships for International Internships for Research Projects Performing Basic and Clinical Hypertension". They are provided to assist laboratories or research centers for basic research or accredited hospitals or clinical research centers. The duration of the internship must be at least 1 month and not exceed 3 months. Three scholarships are awarded annually, two for basic researchers and one for clinical investigators. 3 www.saha.org.ar The Argentina Arterial Hypertension Society is organizing jointly with the International Society of Hypertension, the InterAmerican Society of Hypertension and the Latin American Hypertension Society the “Hypertension and Related Diseases Summer School” to promote the knowledge and exchange of scientific information in all aspects of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of hypertension and related diseases in Latin American young GP´s and field related physicians. This will be an intensive course of three days to be performed in Salta city, Argentina, on October 2012. The proposal includes fifty Latin American candidates devoted to clinical practice and basic research in hypertension field under 40 years old. The participants will be intensively trained in all aspects of the diagnosis, study, treatment and follow up of hypertension and related diseases and they could disseminate this knowledge in regions of Latin America with lower availability of resources. 4 www.saha.org.ar The Continuing Medical Education Department of the Argentina Society of Hypertension is responsible for the National Course of Hypertension, which since 1996 is developed biannually. The courses are currently evolving activities for the second year in the cities of La Plata and Rosario, and the first year in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. On the other hand, and simultaneously, the CME Department is developing quarterly courses in the cities of San Luis and San Miguel de Tucuman. Almost 200 GPs and basic researchers are attending to this activities. Through a cooperation agreement with the National University of Tucuman in the coming 2013 will begin the Master of Hypertension recognized by the National Assessment and Accreditation Committee

5 www.saha.org.ar The Argentina Society of Hypertension has awarded partial scholarships to its members under age 40 to attend the Summer School of the European Society of Hypertension; and cooperated with young associates to participate in the Update Course on Cardiovascular Health for Latin American Specialists BBVA Foundation- San Carlos Clinic Hospital in Madrid. The Spanish Society of Internal Medicine in association with the Latin American Society of Hypertension and the Argentina Society of Arterial Hypertension have developed a Not Presential Cardiovascular Disease Master with the University of Barcelona and sponsored by the Menarini Group
