5 Foreign Trade - Bulgaria: 1. Foreign trade has made strong contribution to real GDP growth in recent years. 2. Since 2003 Bulgarian exports and imports of goods have been growing steadily (with the exception of 2009). 3. The main trade partners of Bulgaria are the EU countries (before and after accession of Bulgaria to the EU). They form about 60% in Bulgarian exports and 50% in imports.

8 Bulgarian Exports 1. In 2010 exports to non EU countries increased by 48.32% compared to the previous year and exceeded 6.1 billion EUR. 2. The exports to Ukraine(98% growth), China (97% growth) and Brazil (96% growth) increased most significantly. 3. The main trade partners are: Turkey, Serbia and Russia, that formed 38.6% of the total exports to non EU countries. 4. In 2007-2009 the dynamics in exports was variable. 5. Opportunity: Bulgaria should continue to increase the exports to non EU countries

EUR /FOB/ Export growth rate – 33.2% ( In the first three months of 2011, Bulgarian exports to non-EU countries increased by 55.9 per cent year-on- year) Import – 18 000.8 mln. EUR Import growth rate – 13.4% Corporate Tax and Personal Income Tax – 10% - the lowest in the EU / the same rates are also valid for Bosnia and Herzegovina – so we are sharing the first place in the ABC region /
