15 The Present Perfect Tense We use the present perfect tense:
for actions which happened at an unstated indefinite time in the past My parents have bought a new horse. (When did they buy it? We don’t know when; the time is not mentioned) Jack has been to London twice. (When? We don’t know)

16 The Present Perfect Tense
She has hurt her arm (The exact time is not mentioned. What is important is the fact that her arm is hurt and she's got a plaster on it)

17 The Present Perfect Tense
Jill has bought a new horse. (The exact time is unknown or unimportant. What is important is the fact that she now owns a new horse.)

18 The Present Perfect Tense We use the present perfect tense:
for actions which started in the past and are still continuing in the present. I have known Sue for five years. (We met five years ago and we still know each other) My father has worked here for seven years. (He started working here seven years ago and he still works here)

They have been friends for twenty years (They met each other twenty years ago and they are still friends) now twenty years ago

21 The Present Perfect Tense We use the present perfect tense:
for actions which have recently finished and their results are visible in the present. They have just painted the walls. (They have just finished painting. The paint on the walls is still wet) . He has passed the exams. (Look at him. He is happy)

She has picked a lot of flowers. (she has got some flowers in her hand, so the action is finished)

She has eaten all the sweets. (the box is empty, there is wrapping paper on the floor)

How long is used in questions to ask about duration How long have you worked here? How long have you been in Istanbul? For is used to express duration. I've worked here for two years. Since is used to state a starting point. I've been in Istanbul since 2000.

27 The Present Perfect Tense Ever/ never
Ever is used in questions and goes between the verb have and the past participle. Have you ever played ice-hockey? Have you ever travelled to the USA? Never is used to make a negative statement and goes between the verb have and the past participle I have never played ice-hockey. I have never travelled to the USA.

Sera David cake David and Sera /eat / pizza? Have David and Sera eaten any pizza? No, they haven't. They have eaten some cakes.
