(Requirement set by G8 and National Guard Materiel Programs Division ARNG-RMQ) VA,MD, DC (National Capital Region), AL, IL have all expressed interest in CBPS. Critical dual use equipment which can be deployed during natural disasters or WMD events.

14. Summary  The chemical and biological threat is real - Iran, Libya, Syria.  The National Guard needs dual-use medical WMD gear with flexibility to respond to natural disasters. The National Capital Region (NCR) states (to include Maryland) are on the record requesting this equipment.  Industry has made $9 million in investments to prepare for CBPS production. Over 11 states support this program impacting 157 employees directly to include small business, woman owned, and veteran owned.  Industry is in production. To date, Smiths has delivered 38 systems.  The need is great for this system and we are ramping up production.  Production will be gapped in August 2014.
