3 Modernisation and Reconstruction of University Management and Structure in the fields: 1. Integration 2. Internationalisation 3. Bologna Process/Implementation 4. Student services (IRO/Stud. Off./Int. Off.) 5. Quality 6. Financing 7. Establishment of Career Centres

4 Results: 1. Universities remain non-integrated, but legislation was adopted 2. Universities improved the position of central university offices and have obtained recommendations by experts for further improvement 3. Universities have first start-ups of career centres, some have them ready 4. University equipped the university offices with equipment 5. Universities have tighter cooperation and plan a new project

5 Year 1 and 2: 1. Divided grant holder and coordinator 2. Activities: training and updating and coordination meetings, purchase of equipment 3. Retirement of grant holder and departure of coordinator Interim year: transfer of grant holder and coordinator status

6 Year 3: 1. Re-Start; new work plan 2. Workshops with discussions, no presentations, except one input; use of local language; focus on implementation 3. Peer Review; follow up 4. Final Dissemination Conference 5. Change in way of project management

7 Changes in Project Management: 1. Individual coordination meetings (bilateral) also with partners having problems 2. Adoption of new work plan - commitment 3. Group coordination at workshops – follow up 4. Communication with EACEA before taking steps (regarding changes) 5. Contracting of former grant holder (continuity) 6. Change of financial management, due to national legislation 7. Final Dissemination Conference 8. Final reporting – contacting former grant holder

8 Financial Management 1. Mobility: Individual Mobility reports, cash + direct payment of stay by coordinator; double documents (Slovenian + English); 2. Staff Costs: Individual contracts + Staff Conventions; payment of own staff with 100% workload on other sources (article 63 Higher Education Act) 3. Overheads: most at coordinator level, less at partner level, not all partners requested 4. Printing & Publishing Costs: not requested by all partners 5. Communication: two languages always (increase of costs of printing)

9 1. Continuity is essential 2. Communication inside the university (between offices and between faculty and rector‘s office) 3. Communication with partners 4. TRUST 5. Use of language 6. Project ideas 7. EACEA very understanding and pro- active

10 - University of Maribor is partner institution (up to 40 incoming and appr. 15 outgoing students and staff). Area: WBC - Project management in tight cooperation with coordinating institution (University of Graz). - Annual Meetings for Selection - On-line portal for applications (electronic + signed paper); multi-level control - Financial management (challenging due to variations in national legislations and rates) - Differentiation between LLP Erasmus and Erasmus Mundus!
