1 1 International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (EIRD/ISDR) ISDR system: ISDR is a system of partnerships including governments, inter-governmental and non-governmental organizations, international financial institutions, scientific and technical bodies and specialized networks as well as civil society and the private sector... UNISDR – The Secretariat - overseen by the USG for Humanitarian Affairs, serves as the focal point within the United Nations system for the coordination and harmonization of policies and strategies for disaster risk reduction, encouraging synergy between the humanitarian and socio-economic development policies and strategies of the United Nations system. It supports the ISDR system in the areas of coordination and resource mobilization, advocacy and partnership building and strategic information and policy guidance.
