FixPack 1.2 was released March 2009, a major fixes addressed many of the performance issues of the MDX interface for the OLAP Universe (see next slide). SP 2 Was released in June 2009 and is a composite of FP 1.5 + new features ISSUE: You need to check what FP of 3.1 you are on. Service Pack2 only covers up to and including FP1.5.

The Business Intelligence Experts Some of the Fixes in later FixPacks In FixPack 1.6 is fixes to WebI refresh, Prompts and row level restriction, Webi publishing and single pass bursting In FixPack 1.7 is a critical hot fix to Qaaws to fix a timeout issue. In FixPack 1.8 includes updates to the WebIProcessServer settings and more. ISSUE: Customers that had installed these FixPacks lost their fixes when installing SP2 in June 2009. (SP2 only covers fixes upto FP1.5)

8. The Business Intelligence Experts Latest FixPack 2.1 FixPack 2.1 was released on Nov. 3 rd 2009. However it requires that SP2 is installed. [FP 2.1 (ie SP2 + patch level 1) is FP 1.8 + Fixes for SP2's issues] So to install a new server, you must install 3.1, then SP2, then FP 2.1. This is required also for desktop products. If you already have installed SP1 and FixPacks 1.6, 1.7, 1.8; you now have to ‘retrograde’, install SP2 and then FixPack 2.1.
