Despite the age of these ancient plays, these stories are still so classic and universally accepted that they still remain popular in today’s society The playwrights would do it all; write, composed music, choreographed dances, directed, & often held the lead role. Wrote both comedies and tragedies. Aeschylus o “Father of Tragedy” o Believed to have written over 90 plays, but only 7 survived Sophocles o Most known for Oedipus and Antigone Euripides o Wrote Medea Aristophanes o Only Greek comedy writer whose plays remain intact in full
