5. 2 Corinthians 7:9-11: Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. 20. 3. Believing in Jesus Christ or God is not enough to be saved

26. 4. Repentance is not becoming sinless or perfect and thus repentance is not works unto salvation.

27. Titus 3:5: not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

28. Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

29. Acts 26:20: but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.

30. James 2:18: But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

31. Matthew 3:8: Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance,

32. Luke 6:46-49: But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock.

34. 5. Salvation is work of the Holy Spirit and not a work of man. God is the one that grants people the ability to repent. Repentance is not something we can do on our own and thus it cannot be defined as works.

35. 2 Timothy 2:25: in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,

36. Acts 11:18: When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”

37. Acts 5:30-31: The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree. Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

38. 6. Faith and repentance are two sides of the same coin and repentance is no more of a work than faith is a work.
