Welcome & Recognition A Working Group member will welcome participants and set the stage with a scripted presentation. The Working Group members will also formally recognize and introduce to the stage any VIPs in attendance and introduce the moderator. Explanation of Process The moderator will walk participants through an explanation of the process for the meeting. In addition, participants will use their keypads to answer several demographic questions. Vision & Values in Health Care Participants will engage in a discussion to examine their values and define their ideal future American health care system.

Following an introduction of the topic likely delivered through an audio visual presentation, participants will engage in small group discussion at their individual tables. The major themes of those discussions will be called out and captured electronically, allowing participants to prioritize the list using their wireless keypads. Deliberation 2: Delivery Discussion: How should health care be delivered? Process is the same as Deliberation 1. Deliberation 3: Financing Discussion: How should it be paid for? Process is the same as Deliberation 1. Deliberation 4: Trade-Offs Discussion: What trade-offs should the American public be willing to make in either benefits or financing to ensure access to affordable, high quality health care coverage and services? Process is the same as Deliberation 1. Community Leader Review Where appropriate, an assortment of community leaders may participate in a facilitated discussion where they can offer comments on what they heard from citizens that day.
