2 What is an idiom? a figure of speech that does not have the obvious presented meaning words, phrases, or expressions that cannot be taken literally have a meaning other than the basic one you would find in the dictionary

3 get the lead out What do you think it means? to hurry, to move faster

4 bite your tongue What do you think it means? to make a conscious effort to not say anything, usually for the sake of politeness or peace

5 to be under the weather What do you think it means? not feeling well, but not very sick

6 hit the hay What do you think it means? to go to bed

7 hit the nail on the head What do you think it means? to be exactly correct

8 Don’t let the cat out of the bag. What do you think it means? to reveal a secret often without the intention to reveal the secret

9 to get your ducks in a row What do you think it means? to become organized, to be prepared

10 go bananas What do you think it means? to become upset or angry or excited to the point of radical or crazy behavior

11 toot your own horn What do you think it means? to brag or boast about your accomplishments or achievements
