2  Content Area: Science  Grade Level: 2 nd Grade  Summary: The purpose of the PowerPoint is for students to learn that animals live in different places.  Learning Objective: Given questions in the PowerPoint, the student will be able to answer the questions about animals living in different places with 100% accuracy.  Content Standard: GLE 0207.2.2 Investigate living things found in different places.  Accomplishment: The students will gain an understanding of animals and their habitats and answer the questions within the PowerPoint.

3  A habitat is a place where a living thing lives.  Different animals live in different habitats.  There are four things that an animal needs to survive in its habitat. 1.food 2.water 3.shelter 4.oxygen

4 Take out a sheet of paper and try to name three different animals from three different habitats. Example: A camel lives in the desert.

5  Two types of forests: 1. Deciduous Forest- where many trees grow with enough rainfall and seasons change 2. Rainforest- receives rain almost everyday and top of trees receive more sunlight than the bottom B ear Deer Raccoon Rabbit Gorilla Bengal Tiger Python Toucan Bald Eagle

6 Giraffe Zebras Lion Elephant VultureBaboon Dominated by grasses Takes place on flat or rolling land Has periods of rain followed by periods of drought
