12 The Bellaire Mission Bellaire High School’s mission is to provide a college-bound culture of quality education through academics, fine arts, athletics and clubs/organizations. Our diverse cultures and custom are celebrated in a professional environment that values collaborations, creativity, competition and distributive leadership.

13 Smart Goals based on analysis of academic strengths 1.Based on the 2011-12 TAKS scores, Bellaire fell below 80% in more than one accountability group, which led to the campus failing to make AYP. The acceptable performance level to reach AYP increases in math to 92% for each accountability group for 2012-13. The TAKS will not be used and STAAR will be the test of record. Thus each accountability group will have 92% passing the appropriate STAAR math exam in 10th grade. 2.Bellaire HS had all but one accountability group have a completion rate of at least 90% for the Class of 2011, while achieving an attendance rate of 94.6%. Each accountability group will achieve a completion rate of 90% with no decrease in any group for the Class of 2012, while increasing the attendance rate to at least 95% overall. 3.The number of Bellaire HS exam scores of 3 or higher will increase by 1.5%, from 85.9% to 87.2% overall with no decrease in the total number of exams administered. The percent of the overall student body that takes at least one AP exam will increase by 9%, from 27.5% to 30%.
