A Ransom for ALL Down Arrow or Page Down Key to Continue

All Christians agree Jesus died in order for sin to be forgiven. How did Jesus’ death make it possible for sin to be forgiven?

For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, Who gave Himself A RANSOM FOR ALL, to be testified in due time. 1 Timothy 2:5

The RANSOM is the means by which God could justly release Adam from the prison house of death. Romans 6:23

I will RANSOM them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: Hosea 13:14

What does the word “RANSOM” mean?

The word RANSOM is translated from the Greek word “Antilutron,” meaning “an equivalent, corresponding price.”

This concept of the corresponding price is a fixed law in God’s universe.

The concept of the RANSOM is expressed in Exodus 21:23-24, “You shall give LIFE for LIFE, eye for eye, tooth for tooth.”

WHAT IS THE CORRESPONDING PRICE ?

A Perfect Life

JESUS

For A Perfect Life

ADAM

This is God’s Scale of Perfect Justice

ADAM was a Perfect Man, with the right to live forever, as long as he obeyed God. JESUS was a Perfect Man. Not of Adamic descent born of a virgin by God’s power. JESUS was a Perfect Man. Not of Adamic descent born of a virgin by God’s power.

ADAM Sinned through disobedience JESUS Obeyed God perfectly JESUS Obeyed God perfectly

ADAM was condemned to death. “In the day that you eat of it you will surely Die” Genesis 2:17 Romans 6:23 Ezekiel 18:43

JESUS had the right to live forever because he was obedient. “ If a man is righteous and does what is lawful and right…he shall live.” Ezekiel 18:5, 9 Deuteronomy 30:16 JESUS had the right to live forever because he was obedient. “ If a man is righteous and does what is lawful and right…he shall live.” Ezekiel 18:5, 9 Deuteronomy 30:16

All of Adam’s children (the entire human race) inherit Adam’s sin and its penalty death. Romans 5:12,17-18; 6:23 1 Corinthians 15:21-22

Jesus gave up his own perfect human life to die as a ransom in place of Adam, thereby releasing the death sentence upon Adam and all his posterity!

“For since by a man (Adam) came death…

“… by a man (Jesus) came also the resurrection of the dead.” 1 Corinthians 15:21 New American Standard

JESUS’ RANSOM FOR ADAM SATISFIES JUSTICE 1 Corinthians 15:22

It permits Adam and all mankind to be brought back to life!

Justice or Just-us?

God’s justice does not mean “just-us.”

Yet, many teach that only Christians will ever be saved. Christians Go Here Everyone Else

If this is true, then most of the human race is doomed to everlasting death

If this is true, then most of the human race is doomed to everlasting death (or worse).

STOP and THINK for just a moment…

Did Jesus die merely to save a few Christians or give all mankind an opportunity for life?

What does the Bible tells us?

Some of the following slides are quoted Bible scriptures. Background images are omitted to help you focus on God’s Word.

“Christ died “the propitiation” (satisfaction) for our (the Christians’) sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole (presently unbelieving) world.” 1 John 2:2

“Christ is the sacrifice that takes away our sins (the Christians) and the sins of all the world's people.” 1 John 2:2 Contemporary English Version

“And He [that same Jesus Himself] is the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins (the Christians), and not for ours alone but also for [the sins of] the whole world.” 1 John 2:2 Amplified

The Father lovingly provided His only-begotten Son to die “for all” while all were still in sin. John 3:16 Romans 5:8

The perfect man Jesus died for Adam’s sin, taking his place in death, thereby redeeming Adam AND all his offspring-the human race-from death.

“For Christ also has once died for sins; the just (Jesus) for the unjust (Adam), that he might bring us to God.” 1 Peter 3:18

“By one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men. Therefore, as by the offense of one (Adam) judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one (Jesus) the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.” Romans 5:12, 18

“THE RANSOMED OF THE LORD SHALL RETURN!” AT THE “RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD”

“ALL that are in the graves shall hear Jesus’ voice, and will “come forth.” John 5:28 Revised Standard Version

This “Resurrection of the dead” will be in two parts:

The Just

and The Unjust Acts 24:15

“Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.” John 5:28-29 English Standard Version

The “just” are Christ’s faithful followers

The unjust will learn righteousness not through the flames of hell but through Messiah’s Kingdom. Isaiah 26:9; Matthew 16:27; Luke 12:48; Micah 4:1-3

Then… Mankind will glorify God, saying: “this is our God! we will be glad and rejoice in His Salvation!” Isaiah 25:9

... for the former things are passed away Revelation 21:4 …the one sitting on the throne said: “I am making everything new.” -5 …the one sitting on the throne said: “I am making everything new.” -5
