52. So what happened? He teaches the ways of Heaven He demonstrates His love for humanity through healing and deliverance He tells His disciples what will happen next He fulfills all 134 prophecies in the OT regarding the Messiah He gives up His life for you and I God puts an exclamation point on it all

53. So how did mankind respond? (And what does that tell us about how we should continue to respond today?)

54. From Matthew’s perspective The guards at the tomb - Matthew 28:4 – shook for fear of Him and became like dead men Mary and Mary – Matthew 28:8-9 – filled with fear and joy, they ran, and then fell at His feet to worship The disciples – Matthew 28:17 – some worshipped, some doubted

55. From Mark’s perspective Mary, Mary, Salome – Mark 16:5, 8 – alarmed, trembled and amazed, and didn’t say a thing When many were told, they did not believe. They needed to see (evangelism recommendation!) The disciples went out and preached – Mark 16:20

Luke’s perspective A number of women (Mary, Joanna, Mary) – Luke 24:5 – were afraid and bowed down Peter – Luke 24:12 – ran to see for himself Certain disciples – Luke 24:34 – note the exclamation point All the disciples – Luke 24:52-53 – worshiped, filled with joy, continually in the temple praising and blessing God

57. John’s perspective Mary only – John 20:16 – wanted to give Him a hug and cling to Him Thomas – John 20:25 – doubted until he put his finger in the holes Simon, Thomas, Nathaneal, James, John and two others had breakfast with Jesus

58. Let’s summarize Filled with a reverent fear and trembled Some doubted, but were later convinced Filled with joy, they told others They bowed down and worshiped Him They went out and proclaimed what they saw Spent lots of time in the temple praising Him Communed with Him over breakfast
