Pastor David Kobelin 12/14/2014

Joy is the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quiet confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright, and the determined choice to praise God in every situation. Rick Warren I.What is Joy?

Philippians 4:4 (NCV) 4 Be full of joy in the Lord always. I will say again, be full of joy. Nehemiah 8:10 (NIV) 10 Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” II.Our Joy in Him

1 Peter 1:8-9 (NCV) 8 You have not seen Christ, but still you love him. You cannot see him now, but you believe in him. So you are filled with a joy that cannot be explained, a joy full of glory. 9 And you are receiving the goal of your faith—the salvation of your souls. II.Our Joy in Him

Psalm 149:2 (NKJV) 2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Psalm 47:1 (NCV) 47 Clap your hands, all you people. Shout to God with joy. Psalm 118:15 (NCV) 15 Shouts of joy and victory come from the tents of those who do right: “The Lord has done powerful things.” II.Our Joy in Him

Habakkuk 3:17-18 (NCV) 17 Fig trees may not grow figs, and there may be no grapes on the vines. There may be no olives growing and no food growing in the fields. There may be no sheep in the pens and no cattle in the barns. 18 But I will still be glad in the Lord; I will rejoice in God my Savior.

Hebrews 12:2 (NCV) 2 Let us look only to Jesus, the One who began our faith and who makes it perfect. He suffered death on the cross. But he accepted the shame as if it were nothing because of the joy that God put before him. And now he is sitting at the right side of God’s throne. II.Our Joy in Him

Romans 14:17 (NCV) 17 In the kingdom of God, eating and drinking are not important. The important things are living right with God, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. II.Our Joy in Him

III.His Joy in Us Zephaniah 3:17 (KJV) 17 The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing. Luke 10:21 (NCV) 21 Then Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the people who are wise and smart. But you have shown them to those who are like little children. Yes, Father, this is what you really wanted.

Psalm 105:43 (NCV) 43 So God brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with singing. John 15:11 (NCV) 11 I have told you these things so that you can have the same joy I have and so that your joy will be the fullest possible joy. Romans 15:13 (NCV) 13 I pray that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace while you trust in him. Then your hope will overflow by the power of the Holy Spirit. III.His Joy in Us
