5 Workplace structure DescriptionHow it supports the employee Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (2001) and The Occupational Health and Safety Act (2000) Employer provides:  a safe, clean and hygienic workplace environment  appropriate ongoing training  implements systems to reduce risks An employee:  takes reasonable care for their health and safety and the safety of others  must cooperate with employer following OHS regulations aims to protect the health, safety and welfare of people at work through: - - - - Work CoverA Government body responsible for managing the State's workplace safety, injury management and workers' compensation programs Trade Unions/Employer Organisations Campaign on behalf of their members to achieve the best possible working conditions, and represent employees in disputes and negotiations. They also lobby government in relation to a variety of issues including taxation, superannuation, childcare, and social justice matters Workers Compensation Injured workers may have an entitlement to:  weekly payments  lump sums for permanent impairment  payment of medical bills  provision of legal assistance  intensive rehabilitation AwardsEstablish one set of minimum conditions for employers and employees across Australia who work in the same industries or occupations Anti- Discrimination Act (1977) Protect people from discrimination and harassment in the workplace Grievance Procedures Formal and agreed procedures that an employer and his or her employees or representatives have agreed to follow to deal with or resolve workplace problems
