15 Soda Free Summer Strategies Soda Free Summer –A 10-week Bay Region campaign –Empowers young people and adults to reduce their consumption of sugar and begin by eliminating sodas –Utilizes a broad cross-section of county-wide partnerships and collaborations to communicate the soda free message

16 2008 Campaign Evaluation Survey respondents (72 percent) found the Soda Free Summer brochure very useful 86 percent of survey respondents who recalled reading the brochure said they discussed the Soda Free Summer campaign with their family 47 percent of all respondents reported drinking less soda and 40 percent drinking more water 84 percent of the survey respondents who used the Soda Free Summer tracking calendar were soda free for most or all days Hispanic respondents reported drinking soda more frequently than other ethnic groups and over half (55 percent) said they recently decreased their soda intake
