2 CAPITAL LETTERS (a A) We use capital letters for - Names (places, persons, objects, animals) - Beginning of sentences - First letter after the quotation marks ( “ ) FULL STOPS (. ) We do full stops when we are ending a sentence or after abbreviations like Mr. and Ms. COMMA (, ) We put a comma in lists or for a pause in a sentence. Examples: I bought oranges, bananas, kiwi and strawberries. When it was dark, Paul decided to go for a walk with his dog.

3 QUESTION MARKS ( ? ) We use question marks when we are asking a question. EXCLAMATION MARKS ( ! ) We use exclamation marks when we are ordering something to someone, being surprised or really angry! QUOTATION MARKS ( “ ” ) These are used when someone is talking at that moment. Example: Ella asked mum, “ Can you help me please? ”
