1 WELCOME St Monica’s Sacramental Programme Enrolment Meeting.

Let us pray: O God, who taught the hearts of the faithful - by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant that by the gift of the same Spirit we may be always truly wise and ever rejoice in his consolation. 8  St Monica’s Parish Community - will provide all the learning materials and resources, provide refreshments, use specialist qualified Catechists, arrange music & readings for all Masses and Services, complete all official documentation and support all those involved in the programme in prayer.  St Monica’s School - will support the sacramental programme through praying weekly for all the children taking part, providing resources and heated accommodation for all meetings, follow the Salford Diocesan Religious Education scheme to supports the Sacrament of Initiation and assist in the planning of all Services and Celebrations.  As the child; - I will attend all sacramental programme Meetings, Masses and Celebrations, listen carefully to the Catechists, work hard during every meeting and finish all the work to be completed at home, bringing the finished work back at the following meeting.

9 Attend all the Sacramental Programme Meetings, Masses and Celebrations, Help my/our child to complete the work set to be undertaken at home, and support them in completing other tasks as suggested at the meetings. Follow up the Parent/Carer meetings with the activities that have been recommended. Parent/Carer Commitment

10 Unable to attend? What would be legitimate reasons for not attending? Unable to attend? Action. 1. Inform Father Bernard directly Phone or in writing. 2. Father Bernard releases the missed session materials. 3. Parent/carer to collect materials from school.

11 No reasons submitted? A reminder letter of dates and copy of signed commitment sent to parent/carer. A follow Up telephone call (or chat) from Father Bernard/team leader – to find out if there are any ways in which can support full attendance in future. If a subsequent session is missed without any response from parent/carer – the same procedure is followed. If second meeting missed without reason being submitted within 2 weeks – involvement in the programme will be deferred until next year; notified in writing and by telephone/discussion.

12 Parents/Carers would have to make representations to Father Bernard, giving their reasons why the involvement for the present year should continue.

13 Sacrament of Initiation 2010-11 Enrolment Of Parish of St Monica Flixton Sacramental Programme Commitment Child - Parent/Carer - Parish – School As the child; I will attend all sacramental programme Meetings, Masses and Celebrations, listen carefully to the Catechists, work hard during every meeting and finish all the work to be completed at home, bringing the finished work back at the following meeting. As the parent/carer I/We shall attend all the Sacramental Programme Meetings, Masses and Celebrations, help my/our child to complete the work set to be undertaken at home, and follow up the Parent/Carer meetings with the activities that have been suggested. 14 READY TO ENROL? 1.Collect enrolment form with your child’s name. 2. Read over it and sign if your are prepared to make the commitment. 3. Take to Mrs Davies who will sign for the commitment of the school. Mrs Davies will keep the forms for completion in school. 4. A special lesson will be held in school for the children to make their decision and sign up to their enrolment – if he/she wishes. 5. Father Bernard will come into school this week to have a special signing up service with all the children – where he will sign on behalf of the Parish community. 6. The enrolment form is copied and the original sent to the child’s home as a record of the four-way commitment to their involvement in the programme. 7. PROGRAMME COMMENCES.
