2 2 Learning Outcomes At the end of this lecture, students will be able to: Identify the various body systems Recognise the terminology relevant to the circulatory, digestive, endocrine, female reproductive, and lymphatic systems.

3 3 Body Systems There are 11 systems. These are: –Circulatory system (heart, blood, and blood vessels) –Lymphatic system (lymph vessels, nodes, and lymph) –Digestive system –Endocrine system The digestive system organs in the abdominal cavity include the liver, gallbladder, stomach, small intestine and large intestine.

4 4 –Female and male reproductive system –Musculoskeletal system (muscles, bones, joints, and connective tissue “ cartilage, fat ” ) –Nervous system –Respiratory system –Skin and sense organ system (skin, eyes, and ears) receives messages from the environment and sends them to brain. –Urinary system (kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra)
